Assignments and exams
Creating an assignment or exam
Assignments and exams are always created inside a course. This page covers the first step of adding a new assignment/exam to a course — entering a title and description and assigning students. Adding questions and marking page regions are covered in later sections.
Before you start
To create an assignment/exam, you need to be on the relevant course detail page. In the left menu, switch to the Assignments/Exams tab and click Create in the top right.
Teacher permission is enough
New assignment/exam dialog
The dialog shows a two-step progress bar: 'Create Assignment/Exam' and 'Assign to Students'. The first step includes title, description, and an optional 'Assign to all students enrolled in the course' option.

- Name is required. This is the title students will see (examples:
Birinci Dönem Sınavı,Performans Ödevi). - Description is used for a short note or date (example:
14 Mart 2026). It is optional. - When Assign to all students enrolled in the course is on, this assignment/exam is automatically assigned to everyone on the course roster, and empty submission placeholders are created for them. Students added later are included automatically as well.
- Click Create to open Step 2 (Assign to Students). If you left the "assign to all students" toggle on, this step completes automatically; you can also select students individually.
Editing basic details
After the assignment/exam is created, you can always return to the 'Create Assignment/Exam' step to update the title, description, or student assignment settings. A danger zone at the bottom of the same page lets you delete the assignment/exam entirely.

- The left menu shows an assignment/exam-specific wizard: Create Assignment/Exam, Add template and questions, Manage uploads, Review papers, View results, Review grade correction requests. Steps are checked off as you progress.
- When Visible is off, the assignment/exam is only visible to you; turn it on when all preparation is complete. Once on, papers assigned to students can be submitted.
- Delete exam is a danger zone at the bottom of the page. Once deleted, the assignment/exam and all student submissions cannot be restored.
- Use the breadcrumbs at the top of the page to return to the course:
Türkçe Dersi > Birinci Dönem Sınavı.
Next step
After saving the basic details, the next task is to upload a template and define questions. In the left menu, go to Add template and questions or continue toAdding a template and questions.
